CURRENTLY

Gwen enjoys slow crafts and outdoor activities. She can often be found hiking the many Oregon trails and documenting the experience through sketching and painting, often accompanied by her dog, Beverly.

On rainy days, she spends time renovating and decorating a 1925 Portland bungalow.

HISTORY

Gwen spent her childhood in Boulder, CO where she developed a love of art, nature and science.  She went on to received her Bachelor's of Arts from Grinnell College in Mathematics and Studio Art.  After several years in the publishing and education industries her desire to combine these two disparate disciplines sparked an interest in textile design; which combines the artistic nature of creating imagery with the mathematical thought of repeat making and using new technology.

In pursuit of this desire, she studied textile design at Philadelphia University while working as a Graduate Assistant and Student Technician in the Center for Excellence of Digital Inkjet Printing.  Gwen earned her Master of Science in Textile Design in 2013.  She has spent the past eight years creating athletic wear as a designer, developer, colorist, and innovator.
