This mosaic was inspired by the ancient Roman piece “Unswept Floor” depicting food debris from the time. The work incorporates local foods from the Pacific Northwest region.

Below details the design process, starting with motif paintings and creating each element in sections before installation. The entire piece installed in a Pacific Northwest entryway.
